Pat Terrion brings
invaluable investment management experience to the SMF undergraduates.
He focuses not only on quantitative factors, but also on quality of
management, geopolitical events, government regulation, and other
fundamental issues that affect a company’s prospects. It is this
perspective that provides the most benefit to the undergraduates.
Terrion takes the group beyond the quantitative aspects of investing. He
focuses on the situations, problems and scenarios that portfolio
managers deal with in analyzing a potential equity position. Terrion
emphasizes the need to invest in companies with a high probability of
future growth, a significant return on invested capital and a strong
historical record. However, he also stresses that the undergraduate
group take into consideration the specifics of the company and its
respective industry. The undergraduate SMF class is open to students
outside of the SMF as well.
