Aija is from Latvia. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from University of Latvia, while spending one semester studying at Oslo University College in Norway.  During her undergraduate studies, she founded and developed own company in Latvia, which is still successfully operating and growing. In the meantime she was undertaking position in Real Estate business in Latvia and gained experience on Real Estate business operations in the Baltic States. Prior coming for her MBA at UConn, she had passed competition and gained position of an Official in the European Parliament with the seat in Luxembourg, which she held for almost 2 years.

Currently at the UConn she undertook several leadership positions within MBA Finance club and Graduate Business Association, while focusing on her 2 majors in Finance and Real Estate Investments. In addition, she was a Consultant in the Innovation Accelerator for two projects and currently holds a Graduate Assistant position with Family Business Program. Her future goal is to gain financial leadership position.  As a Manager at Student Managed Fund, Aija is responsible for stock pick, analysis and recommendations on her primary sector Telecommunications.
